THE MONSTER MILE: It was a washed-out day at Dover Motor Speedway as rain forced the cancellation of NASCAR Cup Series practice and qualifying. The one-mile concrete oval, nicknamed the ‘Monster Mile’ for its steep banking and demanding nature, will now see the field lined up by the rulebook for Sunday’s 400-mile event. Team Penske, which owns eight Cup Series wins at Dover, will look to return to victory lane at the Delaware track for the first time since 2012.
A MEGA MILESTONE: Joey Logano will make his 600th career Cup Series start this weekend at Dover, becoming the youngest driver in series history to reach the milestone. Fittingly, the 'Monster Mile' is where Logano made his NASCAR national series debut in 2008, finishing sixth in his first Xfinity Series start. His first Cup Series start came at New Hampshire Motor Speedway later in the 2008 NASCAR season. He’ll become just the sixth driver to record their 600th Cup start at Dover.
SUNDAY SPOTLIGHT: The Autotrader 400 is set to go green at 2 p.m. ET Sunday on TNT, with live radio coverage on PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio (Channel 90). Back to previous page.Copyright ©2008-2016 Penske Racing. All rights reserved |
