NASCAR Cup Series Qualifying Report - DaytonaAugust 22, 2025Coke Zero Sugar 400 - Daytona International Speedway
BACK AT DAYTONA: The NASCAR Cup Series returns to Daytona International Speedway this weekend for the regular season finale as the 10-race NASCAR Playoffs kick off next week at Darlington Raceway. Unfortunately, continuous lightning in the area forced the cancellation of Friday evening's qualifying session for Saturday night's spectacle at the World Center of Racing, and, as a result, the starting lineup has been set per the NASCAR Rulebook. Team Penske driver Ryan Blaney will lead the field to green by virtue of the metric, with teammates Joey Logano and Austin Cindric starting fourth and fifth, respectively.
LEADING THE DRAFT: Team Penske has captured five Cup Series victories at Daytona, most recently Cindric's win in the 2022 DAYTONA 500. Since the start of 2023, the team has led 1,123 of 3,392 laps on drafting tracks, more than three times the total of any other organization. Team Penske is also the only team in the Next Gen era to see all three of its drivers score victories on drafting tracks. With Cindric's Talladega win earlier this season, the organization extended its streak to 12 straight seasons with at least one superspeedway triumph, a run it looks to continue this weekend at Daytona.
HEROES ON BOARD: This weekend, Team Penske is honored to take part in the Honor a Cancer Hero program, a collaboration between the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation and the NASCAR Foundation. Each of our Ford Mustang Dark Horses will carry the name of a cancer hero on board, giving families the opportunity to see their loved ones honored on one of the sport's biggest stages. No. 2: Sharon Chapman
SATURDAY NIGHT SPOTLIGHT: The field is set to take the green flag at 7:30 p.m. ET Saturday with television coverage on NBC, while radio coverage will be carried on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90. Back to previous page.Copyright ©2008-2016 Penske Racing. All rights reserved |
