NASCAR Cup Series 2025 Season Review
December 30, 2025

Team Penske’s 2025 NASCAR Cup Series campaign reinforced the organization’s reputation for consistency, depth and competitiveness at the sport’s highest level. Austin Cindric, Ryan Blaney and Joey Logano each secured victories during the season, making Team Penske the first Cup Series organization to lock all of its active drivers into the NASCAR Playoffs in 2025.

Across the year, the trio combined for six victories, four pole positions and 1,754 laps led, contributing to another successful season for Team Penske across its global motorsports operations. The Cup Series results were part of a broader organizational effort that included wins in INDYCAR, IMSA and the FIA World Endurance Championship, extending the team’s streak to 14 consecutive years with at least one championship across its racing platforms as Porsche Penske Motorsport secured the 2025 IMSA title.

Ryan Blaney delivered the strongest overall Cup Series performance of his career in 2025, earning a single-season career-high four victories at Nashville Superspeedway, Daytona International Speedway (summer), New Hampshire Motor Speedway and Phoenix Raceway. The No. 12 Ford Mustang Dark Horse driver tied for the series lead with 15 top-five finishes and led a career-best 852 laps, ranking fifth overall in the Cup Series.

Despite seven DNFs over the first 20 races of the season, Blaney rebounded with six consecutive top-10 finishes to close the regular season, securing second place in the standings heading into the postseason. He went on to record top-five finishes in five of the 10 playoff races and led laps in eight playoff events, ultimately advancing to the Round of 8 for the fifth consecutive season and seventh time overall. Blaney capped the year with a dramatic overtime victory in the season finale at Phoenix Raceway, marking his first career win at the one-mile track after multiple near-misses.

Joey Logano continued to add to his legacy in 2025, earning his 37th career Cup Series victory with a win at Texas Motor Speedway in May. The triumph extended his series-leading streak to 14 consecutive seasons with at least one Cup Series win, the longest active run in the sport. Logano clinched his 12th playoff appearance and advanced to the Round of 8 for the 10th time since the current playoff format began in 2014.

The No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford Mustang Dark Horse driver consistently delivered during the NASCAR Playoffs, producing six top-10 finishes and four top-five results across the 10 playoff races for a 10.9 average finish. Logano also claimed two pole awards during the season at Atlanta and New Hampshire, leading a season-high 147 laps after starting from the pole at New Hampshire.

Austin Cindric posted another steady campaign in his fourth full Cup Series season, earning one victory and reaching the playoffs for the third time in four years. The No. 2 Team Penske Ford Mustang Dark Horse driver captured his third career Cup Series win in April at Talladega Superspeedway, marking the 13th triumph for the Team Penske organization at the iconic Alabama track.

Cindric led a career-high 325 laps during the season and posted the ninth-best average starting position in the series at 13.3, the second-best qualifying mark of his Cup career. His performance on superspeedways remained a strength throughout the year, highlighted by a front-row start in the DAYTONA 500 and a race-high 59 laps led in the season opener. Cindric also led 40 or more laps in races at Atlanta, Las Vegas, Texas and Indianapolis.

While the No. 2 team was eliminated in the Playoff Round of 12, Cindric’s consistent qualifying speed and improved race-leading metrics underscored continued growth as he looks ahead to the 2026 season.

Together, Cindric, Blaney and Logano once again exemplified Team Penske’s core philosophy – “Effort Equals Results.” With victories across multiple disciplines and continued success throughout the season, Team Penske closed the 2025 campaign carrying momentum into its 60th anniversary season in 2026.
