700 POLES FOR THE CAPTAIN: Team Penske achieved another milestone in the organization's 59-year history. Will Power, the all-time pole winner in INDYCAR history, gave Team Penske its 700th pole position at World Wide Technology Raceway. It was his 71st pole position and first since he swept qualifying day at Iowa Speedway in 2023. Teammate Scott McLaughlin will start second in a Team Penske lockout of the front row. The organization’s first pole position came in 1966 with Mark Donohue in USRRC competition at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
THEY SAID IT: "Very nice to get a pole. Obviously, it's just two laps. You must execute in the race. We've been quick all year. As you know, in INDYCAR things just play out. A lot of up and downs. I think consistency this year will help you, apart from Alex (Palou) winning all those races. Even he had a bad race last week. It just takes a couple of them and a couple of good races for us and we're within striking distance. It's obviously a big points lead, but absolutely not impossible."
