Recap: Acura Team Penske came close to making it two front row lockouts in a row at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course during the Saturday afternoon qualifying session for Sunday’s Acura Sports Car Challenge. The duo of Helio Castroneves and Dane Cameron ultimately came up one position short by qualifying in the second and third positions, respectively. For Castroneves it was a great run after damaging his front wing on the first lap when the No. 5 car unexpectedly hit his brakes in front of last year’s pole winner. Cameron, too, was contacted by other competitors, but was able to place his Acura solidly in the field. Both the No. 6 and No. 7 Acura Prototypes will start in prime positions to go for a second-consecutive 1-2 finish in the Acura Sports Car Challenge at Mid-Ohio.

Race: The Acura Sports Car Challenge at Mid-Ohio will begin Sunday afternoon at 1:40 pm ET. Race coverage can be seen on the NBC Sports Network and the NBCSN app. Coverage can also be heard on IMSA Radio.
