Recap:
The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship took to the twisting, undulating Laguna Seca layout for a final practice session on Saturday morning before an early afternoon qualifying session. Helio Castroneves placed the No. 6 Acura Prototype third in the morning practice with Juan Pablo Montoya finishing ninth in the No. 7. In qualifying, however, the two-car operation showed it has the speed necessary to compete for the win. Dane Cameron will start second in the No. 6 Acura Prototype after a lap of 1:16.576 seconds, with Castroneves just behind in third.
