Notes:

• Mother Nature was unkind to the IndyCar Series on Saturday afternoon at Pocono Raceway as rain canceled both the opening practice session and qualifying for Sunday's Pocono 500 at the “Tricky Triangle.” The weather forced INDYCAR to alter the plan for final practice, electing to give the teams two hours to dial in their racecars for tomorrow's event. After clutch issues sidelined them early in the session, Simon Pagenaud and the No. 22 Penske Truck Rental Dallara/Chevrolet team gradually climbed the speed charts to finish with the fifth-fastest lap of the session at 215.368 mph. IndyCar Series points leader, Josef Newgarden and Will Power finished 17th and 20th of the day, but all three Team Penske Chevrolets will roll off from the front of the field for the 500-mile event tomorrow afternoon.
