Notes:
Joey Logano was the top Team Penske driver in qualifying at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Road Course. Logano will start third in the race on Sunday afternoon, followed by Ryan Blaney (9th) and Brad Keselowski (11th). Keselowski made a second run late in the first qualifying round to advance from 12th to fifth when the session ended.
Earlier in the afternoon, Blaney, who won the inaugural race on the 2.280-mile road course last year, led Team Penske in MENCS practice. He was 10th overall in the opening practice and was followed by Keselowski and (14th) and Logano (15th).
