Recap:

  • Brad Keselowski led Team Penske in the NASCAR Pro Invitational Series on Wednesday night at the virtual Darlington Raceway. The driver of the Freightliner Ford scored an eighth-place finish in the 120-lap race.

  • Keselowski led Team Penske in qualifying, claiming the 14th-place starting position ahead of teammate Joey Logano who started 23rd.

  • During the first half of the race, Keselowski stayed out of the trouble and solidly ran among of the top-five. A caution on lap 54 of the 120-lap race was a lucky break for Keselowski, who was just a few laps away from making a scheduled pit stop. He pitted during the yellow and restarted seventh when the race went green on lap 60.

  • During the second half of the race, Keselowski consistently ran among the top-five. A caution with 11 laps to go brought Keselowski and the other leaders to pit road for a round of stops. Keselowski took right-side tires and restarted seventh but, his Mustang was damaged on a restart on lap 117 but still posted a top-10 finish.

  • Logano found trouble early.  On lap Shell-Pennzoil Mustang was involved in an accident that also involved Kevin Harvick and Michael McDowell. He pitted during the caution, using his first of two fast repairs and restarted 16th on lap 27.

  • From there, Logano did a respectable job, running inside the top-15 but his chances for good finish went away on lap 88. Logano made contact with another car just past the start-finish line and ended up against the inside the wall, losing a lap to the leaders. He found trouble again on lap 109. He was credited with a 19th-place finish, one lap down.
