Notes:   Simon Pagenaud made it a clean sweep of on-track activities Saturday afternoon at the Streets of Toronto, topping the day’s lone practice session and earning the pole for Sunday’s IndyCar Series event.  Pagenaud’s No. 22 DXC Technology Chevrolet, which has been quick all weekend long, was fastest in the morning practice session and kept the speed for qualifying under threatening skies.  Pagenaud was second quick in his group in round one, fifth quickest in round two and grabbed the top spot with a lap of 58.4293 seconds in the final session.  It was Pagenaud’s second pole of the 2019 season and the 13th of his IndyCar Series career.  Josef Newgarden, driving the No. 2 Hitachi Chevrolet, qualified through to the Firestone Fast 6, but brushed the wall on his fast lap, relegating him to a fifth-place qualifying effort.  The No. 12 Verizon Chevrolet and driver Will Power struggled to find grip on the bumpy road course and failed to make it to the Fast 12 for the first time since Long Beach in 2015.  He will start Sunday’s race from the 15th position.

Coverage: Sunday’s activities include morning Warm Up at 12:15pm ET (NBC Sports Gold) and the race, which will be shown on NBC Sports Network at 3:00pm ET.
