Power secured his fourth career pole at Mid-Ohio and his third pole of the 2019 season as he posted a fast lap of 1:05.1569 as the checkered flag waved to end the Firestone Fast Six qualifying session. The effort marked the 57th pole position of Power's career and the 270th IndyCar pole for Team Penske. He now moves into a tie with Mark Donohue for third on the Team Penske all-time poles list with 51 poles. Power, who has finished second at Mid-Ohio four times in his career, will be looking for his first victory of the season in Sunday's race. Series leader Josef Newgarden posted the third-fastest lap in the No. 2 PPG Dallara/Chevrolet while Simon Pagenaud and the No. 22 Menards Dallara/Chevrolet qualified fourth for Team Penske as all three Penske cars earned starting positions inside the top four.
