Team Notes: The second round of the 2022 NTT INDYCAR SERIES schedule brings the first oval race of the year at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS). Over the years, Team Penske has amassed 10 wins and nine pole positions at the 1.5-mile oval in Fort Worth. Scott McLaughlin leads the series point standings heading into the TMS weekend following his win in St. Petersburg last month. He continued his solid start to the season with a second-place qualifying run for Sunday’s XPEL 375, driving the yellow and black XPEL colors on his No. 3 Chevrolet. Will Power and the No. 12 Verizon 5G Chevrolet team will start the 248-lap event from the fourth position. Josef Newgarden also captured a top-10 starting spot in the No. 2 PPG Chevrolet as he will start seventh on Sunday. In the final practice session of the day, it was Newgarden, a two-time TMS winner – who led the field with the fastest lap of the day.
