Team Notes:  Will Power and the No. 12 Verizon 5G Chevrolet team finished the Saturday qualifying session for the 106th running of the Indianapolis 500 with the 11th-fastest lap of the 32 drivers to take an official time. That gave him the chance to compete for the NTT P1 Pole Award on Sunday afternoon as for the first time in race history, the top 12 qualifiers would get another four-lap run before getting pared down to the Firestone Fast Six. From those six would come this year’s Indianapolis 500 pole winner. Power was the second driver out in the round of 12, and unfortunately his four-lap average speed of 231.534 mph was not enough to transfer. He will start 11th next Sunday.
