Team Notes: Saturday's qualifying for Sunday's Sonsio Grand Prix of Road America was full up ups and downs for Team Penske. Josef Newgarden narrowly missed out on his fourth career pole position as Alexander Rossi made it eight different pole winners to start the 2022 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season. The record for consecutive different pole winners to start the season is nine set in 1961. Scott McLaughlin transferred out of his group in the opening round of qualifying but could not make it into the Firestone Fast Six and will start tomorrow's race from the ninth position. Uncharacteristically, Will Power – the man with the second-most pole positions in INDYCAR SERIES history – could not advance to the second round and will start 15th.
