Team Penske entered the 2014 Verizon IndyCar Series season finale at Auto Club Speedway with two drivers - Will Power and Helio Castroneves - in contention for the championship. Power emerged victorious, winning his first career series title.
Juan Pablo Montoya turned, unofficially, the fastest lap in his storied career in a practice session for the 2000 CART Series race at the two-mile oval. On that day, Montoya turned a lap in excess of 256 mph!
Simon Pagenaud scored his first career Verizon P1 Pole Award on an oval in qualifying for the 2015 MAVTV 500 at Auto Club Speedway.
Team Penske owner, Roger Penske, constructed Auto Club Speedway in 1996. His Verizon IndyCar Series teams own three wins at the track, which he has since sold.
