Laurin Heinrich

Laurin Heinrich enters his first season in the Porsche Penske Motorsport program where he will contest the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar season behind the wheel of the No. 7 Porsche 963. Heinrich will be paired with returning Porsche Penske Motorsport drivers Julien Andlauer and Felipe Nasr, joining the duo at select races.

Heinrich began his career as a hobby, as karting was something he did with his father in Germany. But he soon realized he was missing the competitive edge he craved, prompting him to enter low-level club sports regional championships.

In 2016, he became Swissauto250 Cup Champion in karting, marking early success in his career and development.

The following year, he advanced to Formula 4, competing against larger teams and experienced while gaining valuable exposure on major racetracks, gaining his first experience outside of karting.

In 2019, after taking a break from racing to focus on finishing school, a friend offered Heinrich his Porsche Cup car so he could drive in Germany's Porsche Sprint Challenge GT4 series. Partnering with Speed Monkeys, he made his debut that year and ended up winning the 2019 Sprint Challenge championship.

Beginning in 2020, he entered the German Porsche Carrera Cup, the crown series of the globally held Carrera Cups. Despite navigating some challenges due to the global pandemic, Heinrich emerged as the rookie champion. During this season, he also made a guest appearance at the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and was crowned the Porsche Sports Cup Endurance Champion.

In 2021, Heinrich made his full-time entry into the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, securing the rookie championship in addition to contesting the German Carrera Cup once again. Later that year, he received his invitation to the Porsche Junior shootout to compete for a coveted Porsche Junior Driver position.

In 2022, Heinrich was named Porsche Junior, went on to win the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany Champion, alongside racing in Dubai and the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup, and even making an appearance with Porsche's Esports team.

In 2023, he had his first taste of American racing through the North American Carrera Cup and spent the remainder of the year racing GT cars overseas, before joining AO Racing.

In 2024, Heinrich contested his first season in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship's GTD Pro class with AO Racing and immediately celebrated success. With three victories, he clinched the championship by four points at the season finale at Petit Le Mans.

During his final season in GTD Pro, Heinrich continued racing behind the wheel of AO's 911 "Rexy", earning two more wins before stepping into the Porsche 963 for the first time with Porsche Penske Motorsport during the FIA WEC season finale in Bahrain.

This year, Heinrich was named Porsche works driver and will contest the 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship with Porsche Penske Motorsport behind the wheel of the No. 7 Porsche 963 alongside Julien Andlauer and Felipe Nasr.
