Julien Andlauer
Julien Andlauer enters his first season in the Porsche Penske
Motorsport program in 2025. He will contest the full FIA World Endurance
Championship (WEC) season behind the wheel of the No. 5 Porsche 963
LMDh. Andlauer will be paired with returning Porsche Penske Motorsport
driver Michael Christensen, with Mathieu Jaminet joining the duo at
select races.
Julien Andlauer's career in Motorsport began in
karting to the surprise of none, considering the fact that his father is
a manager of a kart track in Lyon, France. At six-years-old, Julien
stepped into his first kart and could improve his driving skills
throughout his entire childhood.
In 2015, Andlauer
entered the French Formula 4 where he drew quite some attention.
Despite it being his first season, the Frenchman immediately scored the
third spot of the championship.
In 2016, he entered the Porsche Carrera Cup France and achieved a spot on the podium in his first year there as well.
With
his victory in 2017 in the Porsche Carrera Cup France nominated him for
a viewing during the Porsche Motorsport Junior Program.
In
2018, during his first year as a Porsche Junior, Julien Andlauer made
his debut in the FIA World Endurance Championship, competing in the
LMGTE Am category with Dempsey-Proton Racing alongside Matt Campbell and
team owner Christian Ried. After an initial fourth-place finish at Spa,
the trio captured a class victory at the 2018 24 Hours of Le Mans,
where Andlauer set a record as the youngest driver to win at Le Mans, at
just 18 years old.
In 2019, Andlauer returned to the Porsche
Supercup while also competing in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany. Racing
with BWT Lechner Racing in both series, he claimed the German
championship with five wins and placed third in the Supercup, earning
two victories. At the end of the season, Porsche promoted Andlauer from
junior driver to young professional status.
In 2020, Andlauer competed in the Michelin Le Mans Cup alongside Nicolas Leuwiler, finishing third overall after taking wins at Le Castellet and Monza, driving a Porsche 911 GT3 R for Pzoberer Zürichsee by TFT.
In early 2021, Andlauer secured second place in the Asian Le Mans Series and returned to the FIA World Endurance Championship's GTE Am class with Dempsey-Proton Racing. Notably, he claimed pole position at the Le Mans round during this campaign.
In 2022, Andlauer participated in several high-profile endurance events, including the 24 Hours of Daytona and 12 Hours of Sebring in the IMSA SportsCar Championship, as well as the 24 Hours of Spa and the 24 Hours of Nürburgring. He also competed in various NLS Series races and achieved a second-place finish with WeatherTech Racing at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where he recorded the fastest lap of the race.
In 2023, Andlauer rejoined Proton Competition in the FIA World Endurance Championship's final year of LMGTE regulations, while also driving for the team in the European Le Mans Series. He made his prototype debut in the LMP2 class of the Asian Le Mans Series with Proton, where he contributed to a second-place finish in the overall standings, highlighted by the fastest lap and a runner-up finish in Abu Dhabi, along with a podium in Sepang.
In 2024, Porsche announced Andlauer as part of its factory driver lineup for 2025, where he will compete with Porsche Penske Motorsport in the FIA World Endurance Championship.
