Executive Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, Penske Corporation
Jonathan Gibson, Executive Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Penske Corporation, leads all marketing, brand and business development initiatives for Penske Corporation. In this role, Gibson also oversees communication processes and messaging, digital innovation and a number of short and long-term strategic initiatives within Penske Corporation and its subsidiary brands, Penske Automotive Group (PAG) and Penske Truck Leasing (PTL).
Gibson also oversees all marketing and communications initiatives for Team Penske, the motorsports division of Penske Corporation. Gibson joined Team Penske in 2007 as Vice President of Marketing and Communications leading the marketing, communications, branding and merchandising management teams, while maintaining responsibility for the team's revenue and executive relationships with corporate partners. He continues to help manage the relationships with 40+ Team Penske partners, including many of the world's biggest brands actively involved in the IndyCar Series, NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series, IMSA SportsCar Series and Australian Supercars Championship. While at Team Penske, Gibson's marketing group won numerous awards for their creative marketing and social media campaigns.
Prior to joining the Penske organization, Gibson acquired years of progressive experience working with Miller Brewing Company, as well as two other premier marketing organizations. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Georgia and his graduate work from West Virginia University. In 2014, Gibson was recognized as one of "Sports Business Journal's" Forty Under 40, an influential class of young sports business executives who have impacted the industry.
Gibson lives in Bloomfield Hills, Mich. with his wife Jessica and their children, Graham and Campbell.
